Catherine's artwork,"Peace On Earth" was selected as the 2011 Christmas card competition winner for United Disability Services of Akron, Ohio.
It was printed in full color,on glossy card stock with Catherine's biographical information and photograph on the back. The Christmas card was distributed to hundreds of their affiliates. The Kaleidoscope magazine has included Catherine as their featured artist in their 64th issue titled, "Perspectives On Loss." The article reviews her process- how it's progressed and developed, and takes an inside look at her inspirations. Her artwork splashes the front and back covers and includes 5 photos of her watercolors inside.

Catherine is teaching Pouring Watercolors at the Dunedin Fine Art Center for both Winter 1 and 11 semesters in Dunedin, Florida beginning January 9th through April 1, 2012. She is offering this fresh and exciting approach to applying paint to paper. Classes incorporate the techniques of Jean Grastorf and Roland Roycraft, focusing on making both design and value decisions prior to any painting. Masking fluid is applied then layers of transparent colors are poured lusciously onto soaking wet paper. Color is built up while working light to dark with masking the light values in between poured layers. Amazingly subtle and gorgeous color mingles can be created with this technique.
The Cypress Palms of Largo in Largo, Florida are offering Catherine's watercolor classes also. She will be teaching a fun introduction to watercolors class this winter once a week in association with their Parkinson's therapeutic programming. The Waterfront Gallery has moved to a perfect spot in Dunedin at 715 Broadway, Dunedin, Florida, in the hub of it's art district. Catherine's cards, prints and 2 of her newly poured original paintings-Lightning Sea and Summer Sunset-are available at the gallery. Dunedin hosts a fabulous outdoor art fest sponsored by Howard Alan Art Fests on January 14th & 15th which offers Floridians the chance to see top notch works.
The Suntan Art Center in St. Petersburg will host the "100 Artists Show" where Catherine will be exhibiting on President's Day weekend, February 18th and 19th of 2012. Located at Horan Park at 7701 Boca Siega Drive, its central and convenient to the barrier island community. Show hours are from 10-5 both days.
Catherine has a large body of watercolor artworks on exhibit at the
Bright House Networks Corporate Headquarters on 700 Carillon Parkway
in St. Petersburg, Florida. The show runs from August 25th -February
23rd. It is a group exhibit sponsored by the Dunedin Fine Art Center
displaying many mediums by prominent artists in the region.
